Hey, it's your site, your project, and you can do whatever you want. But, keep this in mind... While YOU started out with just a paper clip, your latest move was kind of rude and disrespectful to the folks who contributed some very valuable items along the way - and chose to lose a significant amount of potential profit just because they thought you were cool and were headed for a noble goal.
Let me put it this way. If you went to Vegas with a nickel and worked your way up to a $500,000 bucks, then put it all on double-zero in roulette then, hey man, it's your call.
However, if you went to Vegas with a nickel, and then some kind strangers gave you a $900,000 bucks to help you win $1 million, and you play $900,000 on double-zero, then you're kind of a jerk.
Sorry, I was a big fan of this site & project, but this "Dadaist" turn of events has soured my opinion of the whole thing. Not that you need to care about my feelings one way or another.

In defence of Kyle: One Red Paperclip is not a democracy. I'm sure Kyle has some method to his madness, so ye of little faith, watch this space.
Well one thing to remember is that in any sport you watch your team does not always win. It is easy to sit there on Monday morning and say. "They should have played so and so " or "they didn't work hard enough. SO if we are real "FANS" of the site then we will continue to support. First and foremost I think people miss the big picture here, you will get a house, but the the House isn't what this is all about...
It's truly about the journey. I'm sure originally it was just for a house, but after just a little bit of this experience I think you saw the bigger picture.
how much better is this story goign to be when you can say... I started with a big red paper clip and with that I was able to give a person a vaction, anotehr person a cube van, get a band a recording contract, give another persona year's rent, go to a friggin concert and rock with Alice cooper, give a up-and-coming photographer a dream opportunity, and who knows what else with just 1 paper clip and still walk away with a house/home.
Just keep riding the wave of fun...

Trading Cooper for the snow globe is basically like trading that cube van for that snow globe. I know quite a few people who have happily used their vehicles as their homes. Cintas would have made a rad house.
However, even if you do realize it was a bad trade, don't get in bad spirits. I continue to support you for your great humor and I think that's worth more than any house you can get. Keep up the great work.

I kinda didnt like this crazy idea (but i do love your jumping the shark video), but since this is so popular, I'm sure you're gonna make it, even if there are some fans who wont be following anymore.
Is it possible that the deadline trapped you? Maybe you just had to take the best thing you got offered before 9 pm wednesday? Either way, even though it's not about cash value, I'm not sure there are many people out there who would say that a snow globe, no matter how cool, is more valuable than an afternoon with Alice Cooper. I almost feel bad for the guy who gave you the cube van.
I really don't understand it... But I can't complain. This is Kyle's journey, not mine, and not anyone elses. Those people who agreed to trade did so of their own volition and if they didn't think it was worth it, then they shouldn't have made the trade. Alls we can do is sit back and watch; all the while being completely mystified.

I have to say, that I too was a bit bumfuzzled by the choice of the Kiss Globe, but - well it is your choice. Nothing like giving yourself a bigger challenge, eh? Let's see where this thing goes from here.

I think everyone here is missing the point... It's not about what other people gave and if he is letting them down. If they had any reason to trade other then getting what was being traded then they were in the wrong. It's all about one person's junk is another person's treasure. There is probably a collector out there that will trade A LOT for a kiss globe if it's rare or important to THEM... It's not what you think the value of something is... It's about what someone somewhere out there thinks it is... I had a friend that traded a toothpick up to a virtual boy, and inbetween he got some stuff that was real junk to him... In the end he got a action figure that we thought was crap but some guy traded a virtual boy for it (Granted thats crap too but still!)
As a fan, I find this trade terrific. I have told plenty of people about the site, and directed them here. They want to participate, but what do you have to offer for rent in Phoenix?
This trade allows a new path of trades to take it back up again. If it wasn't for the snowmobile, the coleman stove, the trip to Yahk or the fish pen (et al), there wouldn't be the KISS globe, or what is to come after it.
Keep it up Kyle. It's your adventure. We're just along for the ride... of our own free will!

Jeff and whoever else is ticked - he has scammed no one, everybody received something that they valued in return for what they had to offer. Your "$900,00 donation" analogy is facile and feeble. I figured something was up when he traded the YEAR'S FREE RENT for ONE DAY with Alice Cooper. Perhaps the snow globe owner was the biggest Alice Cooper fan out there and he wanted to give him a thrill - or maybe Kyle has the taxman breathing down his neck. Maybe he makes enough off of ads on this site to buy a house, or maybe the Japanese gave him a lifetime supply of Santori and he'd prefer to just while away the days drunk making bad deals. Who knows? Only Kyle. But puh-lease don't cry about him disrespecting the prior traders - they got what they wanted.

Jumping shark infested waters is very scary!! I'm glad you have now acutally jumped the shark...because i disagree with the fact that you took a couple steps back. But now...you have offically jumped the shark! Is that good or bad?
