Interesting

Just reading the news today. Came across something pretty interesting. Some press-stopping news about a cat being let out of a bag. Huh. Do you think their source is reliable?

This is one of the coolest true stories I have ever heard. Way to Go.

Fantastic Journey...BUT, I didn't get to read the trade from the Movie Role to this house! Where did that post go???

Well, Whatever....I think it is terrific! And I CONGRATULATE YOU!

Anonymous said...

You're signing tomorrow... I've read your story from the beginning and I am so excited for you. It's not just about the clip, and the potential Kyle (and Dom), it's about the kind of hope that you give people who have nothing, and by example show them that they can turn that into Anything! The fact that your partner Dom, has backed your antics and had faith with you from the start, also gives a whole other kind of spin to the aforementioned concept of "hope". Anything is Possible.... and "Thank You."

Anonymous said...

Congrats Kyle. Your story is amazing. Enjoy your house.

Anonymous said...

OMG! Good for You! I found this site on the Yahoo! Home Page, and I would like to say that I am impressed that you completed such a big goal. Also, I hope you enjoy your new house!

Hey Kyle and Dom...I'm not much of one to participate in reality TV, youtube.com or weblogs...though in getting aquainted with you, I'm sure neither of you are either. I DO want to say spending some time finding out about your incredible quest, and the culmination, being bequeathed "Mayor for a Day" says much about to me about what getting involved in life can do for you. Thanks for sharing your story, and if you ever visit the pacific northwest again, post it, and I'll come to shake your hand...

there's a downside to your endeavour: the price of paperclips has trippled!

Anonymous said...

Hi, I gave my friend a purple paper clip, he traded it for a pencil than a large paper clip with an elastic. Do you think he has a chance for a new house?

Tom said...

With the Canadian exchange rate you probably could have sold the red paper clip off the bat, and paid for it with the money you made from it.

Anonymous said...

I really enjoyed this story. So many great people out there!

Good luck to you, Katja

Not having a TV or getting a newspaper,I knew nothing about this endeavor until today, two days after the fact.I just read through your whole project and think it's the most ingenious thing I've ever heard of.I liked your sense of humor and your ability to turn what some would think a disastrous trade into a remarkable trade. And all from one red paperclip!Amazing!

Kyle great inititive and vision. It is this spirit that inspires people to think "outside the box".

Anonymous said...

Wow! You're quite possibly the greatest salesperson in the world.

glogo said...

Definitely I agree with anon. who said, that you are "a man amungst the boys". But we knew that for quite a while.
I, along with others, doubted when you traded for the Alice Cooper afternoon thing. But basically I was sure you were having fun and that whatever happened, you would be cool with that.
And that is the secret to your success, along with the fact that you are a warm, loving, open-hearted person with great faith, who has done a lot already for the whole world and who definitely has a great future ahead.

Greetings from India
glogo

Hi Kyle-

I just got back from two weeks in Alaska and saw your great news on tv there. I'm probably your mom's age, but always enjoy watching a real entrepreneur work and have been following since last year. Made my husband nuts by giving him constant updates.

I didn't think the snow globe was a good move, but obviously you have better instincts about this stuff than I do.

Enjoy the new space.

CONGRATULATIONS!

I can't beleive you made it THIS FAR!!! I'm from AUSTRALIA and they were showing YOU on the NEWS ALL THE WAY IN AUS!!! I was watching the report and they said go to his site. I am so happy for you. I just ate a icecream so maybe I can sell the paddle pop stick and get a house...well in 1 year I'll only be 13. Hehehehe lol. I can't beleive this happened

well congrats again.. Love me xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxox

Anonymous said...

Woot, congratz! I have started what you have done, but on a virtual game lol. Well i'm only 12 lmao!

Anonymous said...

Fantastic to hear that you ended up with a house, but I was just wondering whatever happened to that house from the movie "The Castle" that you wanted to eventually end up with?

Are you going to keep going till you get it, or has it already been sold and the new owners don't want to trade? Maybe it could be kind of a 'Sea Change' deal, where they move to Canada, and you get the house?

Anyway, I was just wondering that, after seeing the segment on "60 Minutes" here in Aus, and comparing the story to the one on "Beyond Tomorrow" which had the bit about the house in "The Castle".

Happy trading.
Jiahadye.

jrhnrYour first goal has been accomplished. Rick Hansen wheeled around the world in his wheel chair. Accomplished his goal and began to realize, after his tour, that it was the beginning not the end. Not only have you accomplished your goal, but you have inspired a gobal community. There is a next for you. What will it be?

Anonymous said...

Congratulations on achieving this... original goal. Just so you know, in my town, Duluth, Georgia, some economics teachers are using the whole "red paperclip trade" idea as a project at my school. I am not in that class, but found out about it and have started my own "paperclip mission". Wish me luck.

Way to Go Kyle!

When our Professor posted this link on the weekly on-line discussion board for our E-biz class, I just had to read this to see if it was true.

I am utterly amazed! What a phenomenal story you have here.

It did leave me wondering though;

Did you keep the house?

You may have posted that some where here, but I did not see it.

I also am posting a link back to my blogger as well to help in spreading this fantastic success story!

Last but not least... Thanks a Million for sharing your awesome adventure with us!
