How do I set up a mailing list?
Hey, I've got RSS feeds and blog updates via email and all sort of other jazzy stuff around here, but I'd really want is a run-of-the-mill old school mailing list. Well, to be toally honest, I really just wanted to capitalize on the opportunity to use the phrase "run-of-the-mill". Does anybody out there know a good place that provides a free or very low cost mailing list thingy? Shoot me an email at oneredpaperclip.com if you've got any hots tips on this matter. I'm really chomping at the bit to start running with the mill. Rumor has it that running with the mill is awesome - Kyle

You may want to check out Google Groups. Pretty easy to set up and use, and also free.

I've used them a few times and their system is simple and pretty solid. I think they have free and paid memberships, depending on whether or =not you want ads.

You might want to try using groups.google.com or groups.yahoo.com, both of which are free and easy to use. Yahoo has more features, Google is less annoying to use, to me at least. Have fun!

Constant Contact is pretty fantastic - not sure if they have a free option but if you want to be able to track who is actually opening your emails and visiting the various links you send - this lets you. It's like the mail server for stalkers :) <--in a good way...if there is such a thing...
Love your site! What a great concept. For bulk email I use MaxBulkMailer. While I use it on a Mac it also is available for Windows. It allows me to send plain text or HTML email and can be set to send any number of emails per hour if your ISP only allows a certain number.
